Resistance can be as simple as using certain terms:

"online video" instead of "YouTube video".

"online search" instead of "Google Search" (or "do a search" instead of "google it".)

"music playlist" instead of "Spotify playlist".

Do not give these company any free advertising by using their names.

Do not make them the default term for something.

Me: Hey, we could ride those bikes!

Partner: They’re locked up.

Me: Are they, though?

(That was last night. There were two bikes there. Note that we are on an island, there’s only so far a thief would get. There are tons of unlocked bikes around. I’m sure the owner just went for a ride. Still a funny photo though!)

I saw a guy with an Aventon PAC this morning, chatted for a bit, he offered to let me test ride but I said “Thanks, but I’m good!” then ran into a guy with an Aventon Aventure later in they day. Both said they loved their bikes. Both looked a few years older than me.

I really think I’m just gonna go for the Level 3. Spent a bunch of time reading and watching reviews, looks like it would be a great commuter bike for work & weekend fun rides.

Trying to decide between going with a budget ebike around $1,000 or a better model from a local shop that would be double that price.

The cheaper one is definitely within my budget, while the other option is quite a bit more that I’d like to spend…

Hoping to commute to work, 7 miles each way, both could handle that easily…

Holy Crap! I biked to work... I took the (borrowed) ebike and it took 24 minutes. (I had estimated 35-40.) My route was about 7 miles. (The bike said 7, my phone said 6.7.)

This drive usually takes about 15 minutes by car. I probably spent at least a few minutes waiting at stoplights at the busier streets but taking the Oak Leaf Trail was smooth as hell.

I love arguing with a dude who is telling me the device I sell can be found for 1/8th the price, twice now, with no links or other info to back up his claim.

I'm really close to the 2.6x cost of goods with a little extra to cover shipping materials, support, and custom programming that is offered...

And if so, why doesn't he just buy the competitor's product instead of bugging me?

I suggested the US should have Universal Health Care and this was one person's response.

"Well I do not want to pay for healthcare for everyone because if you actually do research and talk to other people in countries that have that like I have done for years. It sucks, it does not work right and people die more because they cannot get the care they need. It also takes over half of their pay."

My adult daughter has moved back home for a while before she makes her next move. It's been great getting to know her and experience her life with both of us being adults.

And to see all the ways I've influenced her life. I remember her mentioning how I disliked DRM back when she was young and she gets it now.

Last week when I told her I was going to (another) protest she was concerned and told me "Not to die" so I had to respond...
