Happy #WednesdayOnWednesday everyone! Here is Wednesday as a baby kitten for your enjoyment! She has been living in Georgia but is now up in Illinois with me and we are both having the best time together. She is the sweetest cat who loves to play with toys and boxes and anything crinkly she can get her paws on. Her favorite toys so far have been a little mushroom and a little shrimp, i think she’s in the right place lol. yellow-rumped warbler

nuthatch knows what you did

in case you ever need help telling what kind of drum and bass someone is talking about i made this handy little chart!

how is this a real bird? what are they thinking about? how are they so round and perfect?

a golden crowned kinglet standing plumply on a bit of moss on a log. they are looking slightly upwards as if possibly lost in thought. they have a black and yellow patch of feathers on their head as well as yellow and black feathers on their wing and a light white belly that is very round and fluffy

Wednesday got to nap in a sunbeam today

A beautiful tortoiseshell cat curled up (shrimp style) on a green fuzzy blanket. Both front paws are out and one is turned towards the camera revealing black toe beans getting warmed in the sun. Her black tipped tail is curled around her back leg (the orange one). Her reddish brown fur is glowing in the warm light. Her eyes are closed tight and ears are perked up but relaxed.

i still think one of my main gripes with my education was that it took the joy of reading from me for many years. the way i was expected to analyze text was in no way compatible with my love of reading for the sake of it. there is no wonder that so many people do not enjoy it, to reduce writing to simply its pieces and parts without any regard for enjoyment never sat right with me. sure its important to parse information from text and draw conclusions but some books should be enjoyed first. theyre art! i dont start picking apart a painting before looking at the whole thing. sometimes it takes years and many readings for a book to sink in and thats fine! anyway, if you only have ever known reading as a means to check the boxes in an assignment, yeah you probably wont like it much. i am so relieved i have found my way back into reading though. it has become essential to my well being and brings me so much more than i ever thought it would
