I'm Borealis, AKA the LiteralGrill, and welcome to my home on the Fediverse. My ass is hot and my takes are even hotter, so be prepared!
I'm 32 year-old award-winning author and poet that currently is focused on writing essays about anime and manga these days. I also watched Groundhog Day once a day, every day, to celebrate the movie's 30th anniversary.
I'm radically leftist, understand COVID is not over, and deeply care about disability justice. I'm also a horny shitposter who is absolutely "posting through it" to make the world a sillier place in tough times. If you wanna take about old weird video games, media formats, or odd technology, I'm your grill!
50th anniversary of the Muppet Show? Give those puppets a BREAK! For No Muppet November, we'll be checking out the amazing world of puppetry in movies without Jim Henson's cast of friends!
On February 2, 2024 I rolled into the Tomorrow Theater in Portland, OR and watched Groundhog Day for the 365th day in a row!
When I started this back in 2023 for the movie's 30th anniversary, I couldn't have imagined something not stopping the streak. But I made it here, and along the way ran a podcast, became an expect on time loop media, presented on the topic at conventions, and made so many friends to talk about this silly little adventure with.
In 2023, just like in the film, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter just like in the movie. This year, he predicted an early spring. It's taken an entire year to reach this grand accomplishment, but now it's time to move onto something new.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on my daily posts and encouraged me all this time. I can't wait to see what bonkers challenge I try to tackle next!

Susan dug into the DVD collection to pull out three classics that draw on satire and parody to really bust out the laughs. Each movie begins at 6pm (PST) with a pre-show to let everyone settle in and enjoy themed commercials, theater trailers, and more.
