This year’s event really allowed the “from many, one” ethos shine. We had cDc, R00t, 2600, and L0pht representation in our village, some new townies in the pipe too.
Hackers.town was born in an attempt to resurrect the good parts of the early hacking scene. A tiny LED in the darkness of the void.
And we bring them together.

Fun was had.
We got 200 rayhunters into the wild, and 95 Meshtastic badges.
EFF was so kind and supportive. Their people on the ground and tech teams, not only are supportive of h.town, but they were even supporting in ways I can’t say yet.
We raised a LOT of money for the EFF, and even staged a take over of an event.

So I have to give credit…
The DEFCON Goons actually kicked in hard, coordinated, and fixed a mistake.
I know the events of yesterday were a little dicey from the outside, but the messaging I was receiving from the authoritative folks in the chain was positive and supportive. Which is exactly why I didn’t express much opinion during the unfolding situation.
I cannot give them enough credit for the way they handled it from where I sat. Which was pretty much front row.
