One way to beat the heat
How many math mistakes and test prints has it taken to get here? (Not even including all the FDM failures!)
Heavenly bodies are starting to appear! Partner asks "where is Saturn?", which would require adding another layer to the gear train...
Recalculated the gear ratios with proper epicyclic math, reprinted the Mars and Jupiter gears, and finally the synodic periods all appear to be correct (or at least match my simulation)

Fully assembled gear train for the sun, four planets and moon. Testing with a drill to run at 1000x normal speed. However Jupiter is running way too fast; the synodic period is 398 days but it completes its orbit in two months.
