Contrary to Trump’s grotesque, self-congratulatory press releases, he has not ended gender-affirming care for young people; rather, as the health care workers I spoke to this week made clear, hospital management, boards, and their legal advisers have ended it for him. My new story:

Crone in Training Subscribe | work at the public library which means | see the books leaving and coming back in, and | can tell you this, my community is scared of what's happening and what is likely to happen, and they intend to go down fighting. They are learning skills and reading about politics like I've never seen. And the books parents are choosing for their kids: allyship, inclusive, multi-culturalism. It's beautiful. I'm making new cards for people by the literal dozen. This is why facists hate libraries. It's where people go to gird their fucking loins. We love to see it.
