We’re not going to the open garden, Tom has backtracked on wanting to go πŸ™„πŸ™„ This is annoying as it was his suggestion in the first place and the whole reason I just prepared a slow cooker dinner. Sigh. It’s so hard to prise him out of the house.

Good morning, it’s Slow Sunday here, I had a lie in again and I’m not rushing in any way. We’re planning on going to an open garden this afternoon after an early lunch. We are informed that there will be cake. I’ve got to remember to get dinner in the slow cooker before we go. I have no other plan apart from finishing reading James and changing the bedclothes.

Do you have a Slow Sunday, or are you busy with weekend chores?

food including meat

I had a very Mediterranean lunch of ripe orange tomato with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Serrano ham, chorizo, goat’s cheese, fresh bread and ripe figs. Delicious

Good afternoon. For once we have nothing going on this weekend, no visitors and no overnight trips anywhere, and I took the opportunity to lounge in bed in and out of a dozen until almost noon. I’ve since been to the shops and bought some lovely fruit, corn cobs, and heritage tomatoes.

I will do some sort of exercise this afternoon, maybe indoor bike, I’m undecided. Other than that, I hope to finish the two books I’ve been reading and to not do much else!

Anyone doing anything exciting this Slackerday?

Morning. I massively overslept and I’m a bit groggy but I need to snap to it as I’ve got a meeting with my subject librarian and my supervisor to establish the exact search terms I need to use to work on my literature review. This will be the backbone of my work for at least the next 6 months so I need to pay attention πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It’s a dull, grey day and cool for the time of year. TBH I don’t really enjoy August, the best of the flowers have been and gone, the weather’s often not that great, the grass starts looking parched and dry… I’d rather just skip to September and get ready for autumn, which I love.

Tell me about your day ahead?

Hmm so I met with my manager expecting to come away with a whole long to do list and I have… zero tasks to complete until she’s done her bit with the dataset she split for some reason I could never quite pin down and needs to amalgamate.

She confirmed that my contract has been extended so that I can continue to work 1 day a week on this project until the end of November, but realistically I will be writing papers with her long after that. She’s sending round my rapid review paper and as previously agreed I will be first author when we submit

Good morning, it’s a rainy one here. I’ve got a meeting with my manager for my pre-existing job at 11am, until I’ve had that I don’t really know everything I have to do for the rest of this week and next. The not knowing is making me feel slightly stressed and I will feel better when I have more of a grasp on the situation. I’m expecting to have to work Saturday to fit both jobs in.

I had good sleep quality but some horrendous dreams which I can’t even bring myself to journal about much less share. Not a great way to start the day.

I’m off into the rain now to pick up the milk as we seem to have run out, which is not like us.

Have a thrabulous Thursday!

Campus is even quieter than last time I came, I guess everyone’s on holiday. I’m at a picnic table on the lawn outside the main building and very few people are nearby. Far more jackdaws and seagulls. I’m just sitting in the sunshine with a tropical juice drink waiting until it’s time to go up to my meeting.
