As of July 2025, «EUMETA contains a vast chapter on intellectual property rights (IPR) [...] overall in line with similar chapters in other EU trade agreements. A few details have been changed regarding copyright protection. According to the Commission they relate to definitions and the rights of broadcasting organisations, which are now made optional and will be granted on condition of reciprocity (EU COM, 2024j)».
