My father used to be an Arabic teacher before he retired, he enjoys poetry too, and he transmitted that to my brothers, my sister and me.
Iβm going to tell you about my father, whom I love very much.
A good friend of mine sent me a poem earlier. I like poetry, thereβs a long running tradition of poetry in Palestine, itβs a source of pride for Palestinians.
I found the poem in English, itβs here:

Today was difficult. Iβm a bit tired of this war, of destruction, destruction everywhere I look, of hunger, sadness, despair, despair in everyoneβs heart, in everyoneβs eyes, and of things never improving.
I know it will get better, God willing, but some days are more difficult than others. Today I went walking around the streets of Al-Jawla, a neighbourhood of West #Gaza. I was so bored π
The situation is very difficult.

Hello my friends. This is Mohammed Shobair from Gaza. Last night in Gaza City was the most terrifying, we thought it was too late and everything was over. Flares everywhere in the sky, noise everywhere around us. Please keep us in your mind, in your heart, in your prayers. Thank God, we are still alive. My family and I are now on our way South. This is most devastating. I donβt know how much more we can take. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of all things.
This is not happening to us. This is not natural causes. This is not a Godly punishment.
This is: some people decide to do this to us. Some people want us to suffer and to be erased. And the world knows, the world is watching, and yet it still goes on.
Itβs more important than ever that you stand by us and that you do everything you can to stop this.

Itβs been nearly 2 years of no stable shelter, no income, no safety, no reliable access to food or water.
Iβm trying my hardest to survive and not to give in to despair, and to keep my loved ones alive, healthy and in good spirits.
I need your help for food and shelter for my parents, my siblings, my nephew and me.
