Look. Iβm not in love with Dua Lipa.
But this music video is my religion now.
Iβm enjoying this thread in which someone with one follower whose account was created this summer is attempting to tell a very prolific, popular, and long-established user about the cultural norms of the Fediverse. πΏ

βDeveloping mania from a chatbot and falling in love with it? That seems far-fetched,β I post in the midst of the stream of increasingly unhinged messages I send to a hundred Mastodon accounts that I feel closer to than my own family.
Climate change has impacted many animalsβ migration patterns. Thatβs why Christmas shows up earlier in stores.
Donβt just stand thereβpost something!
Ok, serious(ish) technical/platform question:
1. Who is using (or has used) Ghost, and what do you think of it?
2. Is there anything you would recommend instead, and why?
Please boost for reach. Obviously, given that I'm [gestures towards entire history of posting], I am not considering substack.
Iβve seen people recommending @FediTips@social.growyourown.services for newbies today, and I agree, Fedi.Tips is awesome.
Iβve also seen people recommending FediFollows, but FediFollows has, as far as I know, never recommended me, so they can get fucked.
Welcome, Bluesky users! To help you get acclimated, hereβs a helpful guide to Mastodon language.
Here, skeets are βtoots,β reskeets are βboosts,β and TERFs are called βblocked accounts.β
One year ago today, I made my first and only Mastodon account migration, from Dot Social to the esteemed beige.party.
I had been considering a move for some time due to [gestures broadly at Dot Social], and the only place I ever considered was Beige. Many of my longest and most cherished met-on-Fedi mutuals were clustered thereβ@adhdeanasl@beige.party, @Alice@beige.party, @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party, @the_etrain@beige.party, @LoganFive@beige.party, @RickiTarr@beige.party, and I'm sure others I'm forgetting. And so many more who I've met since making the leap.
There was this tight circle of funny, kind, smart people here that I admired. I got along with them, but I always felt like I was on the periphery. At the party, but not really part of the group. I wanted in.
Well, one year later, I can say I'm still on the periphery, but now I have an @beige.party domain on my user account, too, and they don't know how to kick me out.
Kidding! Kidding. Beige.party isn't just a place for funny people; it is, as I said above, also a digital home to kind people. Everyone gave me a very warm welcome. Almost uncomfortably warm. Made me wonder who was sitting in the welcome before they gave it to me.
All of this is to say, it has been a hell of a year. Thanks to all of you for putting up with me and including me and just being your amazing selves. And thanks to @theropologist@beige.party for making this weird little corner of the Fediverse for us. #BeigeBless
