I am usually a windows-open-in-the-car > A/C kinda guy but when it's 36°C outside, 38° according to the car, and also the phone overheats a little too readily causing lost Dashes, then the A/C goes on.

It's also better for the longevity of the IcedCap :)

PVC cement is kinda scary and I am not completely convinced I need to use it. lol

None of this pipe is going to be completely inaccessible, and I may need to adjust things down the line... all the joints are within the wet zone of the holes so no water lost if there are any small leaks.

started early this morning so I could get at leaat something done before the oppressive heat sets in.

I need to go to the store rn to pick up fittings.

glad I started early today.

Went to the hardware shop at open 7:30AM only to find they were out of elbows.

went to Can Tire at open at 8. Same story.

Had to drive 30min to clean out the Home Hardware stores in Qualicum Beach and Parksville of all 8 elbows they had between the two of them.

Got back in time to do some rough fitting, but it is already 27° and hotter in the hole. So I am done for the day!

Managed to rough together the bottom intake pipe as well.

The realization was that if I had said piping in the bottom
of the poolpond just like that, then the elbow from pipe up to outlet would be at least 4 inch (10cm), requiring at least that amount of gravel to cover it and bring everything up to level, and probably more. Which is:
a) a lot of gravel $
b) a loss of depth for enjoyment of water.

So Chris is digging a pipe trench... 🪏

Also took the opportunity to improve the steps on the end of the pool pond and the indentation for the yellow basket with the pump inside.

A view of a long stretch of pipe along the edge of a bottom of a pond on top of the dirt. It has a elbow and a short length at the end of the pipe and another in the middle. I have edged along the length of the pipe beginnings of a trench. A view down into the pit shows the trench taking shape. It is, of course, in the sunlight while the non-trenched side is in the shade. Such as life.

omg it is so heavy and blistering hot. I could only set half of it before I tapped out.

the fabric put back down into the trenches and the pipe set in to be sure it was ok. The liner is pulled back over and set in on the near end with the yellow basket but the far end is still stretched over and not set into the hole properly. It is all in full sun. so hot. My legs out on the floor in front of me as I collapsed on the floor
