I am a 50+
I live in a neighborhood of 60+ and 70+
My street has perhaps a hundred houses. On most days I go outside I see ZERO kids.
Also no loud cars. Hardly anyone has a sports car. Or loud stereos.
Point is. My street is exceptionally quiet. The most silent street I have lived in in all my life.
UNLESS!...
I have a conference call.
Then there 3 neighbors with trimmers, 2 with jet hoses cleaning and someone using dinamite to do house renovations.

I feel like getting old has seriously hampered my eye and hand coordination.
Oddly related, sometimes when I try to "clap" mosquitoes that my hands end not lining up.

I want you to know that I filter every sport toot, sport news item, or sports video, on my feed (it's not you, it's the capitalism).

Someone was talking about being an oblivious man.
I remembered in college this girl telling me, "afreytes, why don't you visit me at home and let me copy your lab notes?", unlike me she lived right next to the uni.
And I kept thinking, "this lazyhead wants to copy my work! The nerve of some people! She thinks cuz she pretty she can take advantage of me!"
Next time she comes over to me and says, "My parents won't be home today until late..."
It took me decades to realize.
I don't remember where is the setting configured; but one of the best things you can do on mastodon is filter out any notification from new accounts, where new means less than 30 days of creation.
Low-key thinking about researching spiders so I can find out which spiders make the deadliest webs for mosquitoes, then starting a spider farm forr the purpose of breeding said spiders.
