Here are the bricks for the BBQ Hut fireplace/grilling station on the dream Junkranch

Junkmaster just pulled the pallet out away from the front of the building

About 50 were on the ground already

I stacked them up a bit so the loader can move them across the yard

The Perpetual Soup Pot is still going

I put it on after breakfast, add new stuff and run through full boil to stay warm cycle

I checked the temperature at warm and was 141F, a safe holding temp for food. Right to the fridge after.

Keep it on all day for lunch and emergency dinner if neither Junkmaster or I have any better meal ideas

Today I sautéed mushrooms, garlic, onion and bell pepper and then added some kielbasa and a can of stewed tomatoes!

Started it last Wednesday (Monday today)

A pan on the stove with sautéing mushrooms, green peppers, and onions, next to a slow cooker containing sliced sausage. The countertop is cluttered with a thermos, bottles, and other kitchen items.

A few years after we met, I bought his motorcycle when he got a new one.

He had spent a few summers in Alaska on a fish buying boat.

We went up to Valdez together. Ferry from Bellingham WA to South East Alaska. From there we still had to drive about 1100 miles through the Yukon and then back into Alaska.

At the end of the summer, he rode back all the way, I put mine on a company boat heading back to my home town Port Angeles WA.

My oldest friend is still a man of adventure!

We met in 1981!

He lives in Idaho now. This week they drove up to the mountains at about six thousand feet to find some snow for cross country skiing.

He is my age (early 60s) and there is no way my knees or stamina is up to that these days.

From yesterday’s walk around the junkyard.

The Junkmaster said this one will be making the move to his future dream junkranch.

I want to try and get at least one of the many cars that will be available running myself. This might be first on my list.

He said it needs a clutch but was a driver when parked.

Should be relatively easy to get running good enough for a ranch runabout.

I would probably take the doors off and not worry about a new top. #JunkyardLife

Second Breakfast update:

When getting breakfast in a restaurant, I was never a sausage gravy and biscuits guy.

I recently spotted a can of said gravy on a shopping trip

I don’t have any biscuits, so I used it to top a big sausage patty and a couple of fried eggs.

Might have to try some from a good breakfast joint sometime!
