#PennedPossibilities 751—Check-in: Share a recent snippet you're proud of.

I can't share anything recent due to spoilers. But...

During yesterday's TTMD for #ScribesAndMakers, many people asked about my next series. This is a snippet from the first book.

There was also some discussion about my geology obsession. The geology of this world was inspired, in part, by my trips to Hawaii.

I wrote it two years ago, and will edit it when my WIP is done, later this year. I hope that's okay. Enjoy! 💚💚

Emery savored one with eggs and vegetables, while Vince devoured a similar one with bacon. The bakery they’d purchased them from was only a ten minute walk from the beach, but by the time they got there, all that was left of their breakfast was the tea that warmed Emery’s chilled fingers. The sun was bright and warm, but the air still had that lingering nighttime feel. The kind that burns off within a couple hours of sunrise. Emery had no doubt her skin would be slicked with sweat soon, but for now, she rather enjoyed the sea breeze prickling her arms. They started their walk on the western side, quite near where the river flowed into the Midnight Sea. Vince told her the beach stretched for nearly two miles from river to river, and that the black sand lining it was a result of the mostly lava rock that made up the sea’s bottom. Some sediment and decomposing materials came downriver during the rainy season, which gave the beach a marbled black and brownish green look for a couple of months.

#ScribesAndMakers 10Aug—What kind of photography do you most enjoy? (Taking, viewing, or both.)

I enjoy all kinds of photography, both for taking and viewing.

My favorite to take would involve nature. Landscapes, wildlife, flowers, insects...things that remind me how beautiful and interconnected this world is.

My favorite to view is probably landscapes, but I like seeing the variety of pictures people take. What others find interesting enough to capture is fascinating for so many reasons.
