A Colorado town is on high alert after a dead cat tested positive for the plague – mere weeks after an Arizona man died from the disease.
The domestic cat, which lived in Evergreen, about 30 miles west of Denver, was diagnosed with the plague but did not survive, Jefferson County Public Health officials said.
It was the first confirmed case of the plague in an animal in the county since 2023, officials said.

Well, another fire in Ecum Secum. This one a structure fire. We were without power all afternoon. I realized we were offline when I couldn't wash my hands when I came inside. NO POWER.. typical Sunny Saturday but this was likely related to the structure fire.

I still have a groundhog to relocate. This one is an angry rodent, so I covered him over for the night and when there's enough light for a drive, we're going on vacation together. He's not coming back.
